Who is Family Options?
Family
Options provides adoption placement services for New Jersey families
as well as counseling to those coping with infertility and/or the
maze of adoption options. Founded and directed by Diane Propert,
M.A., CSW, LPC, Family Options focuses on the family and on developing
realistic strategies related to unplanned pregnancies, adoption,
and infertility.
Family Options is a licensed, non-profit
adoption agency and counseling service.
Biographies
Lynette
M. Leming, BA
Family Options Caseworker. Lynette received her Bachelors
Degree in Sociology from Rutgers University. She is currently a
candidate for her masters of education in counseling from Seton
Hall University and is expected to graduate in December 2003. She
has worked in the field of adoption since July of 1998. Aside from
her professional experience in adoption, Lynette has personal knowledge
of the adoption process after placing her newborn daughter for adoption
in 1996. She has tremendous compassion for the field of adoption
and works directly with adoptive and birth families. She also works
with the community by providing outreach services to schools, pregnancy

Diane
Propert, MA, CSW, LPC
Ms. Propert is Director of Social Services and the co-founder
of Family Options, a licensed private adoption agency and counseling
center in Red Bank. She has a Master’s Degree in counseling
and is a certified social worker and licensed Professional Counselor.
Diane also has a private counseling practice, which specializes
in all aspects of counseling for impaired fertility. She is a frequent
speaker for Adoptive Parents Committee, Concerned Person for Adoption
and Resolve Conferences and was previously on the Counseling Faculty
of Brookdale Community College. Her personal connection with adoption
is as the mother of two daughters through adoption, one by international
placement one in an open placement.
Stephen Propert, MA, CSW, LPC
Mr. Propert is Executive Director and co-founder with Diane
of Family Options. After graduation from Villanova University, he
completed his Master’s Degree in counseling at Kean University.
He is certified by the State of New Jersey as a school guidance
counselor. He is also a certified Social Worker and a licensed Professional
Counselor. He has extensive experience counseling college students.
He is a frequent speaker on adoption. His personal connection with
adoption is as the father of two daughters through adoption.
